Do I Need Travel Insurance?
We would strongly recommend that you have travel and health insurance for your stay. As Turkey has no formal reciprocal healthcare arrangements with the UK or EU countries the costs of healthcare would need to be met by yourself should you have an accident or become seriously ill and require hospital or other medical treatment.
A short stay travel insurance policy can bring peace of mind that you are covered for any situation from accidents to health crises and also loss of personal belongings. However please also be aware that not all policies will cover some sports activities regarded as high risk eg paragliding and for example the riding of scooters without appropriate protective gear. If you intend to take part in any sports activities please check the small print of your travel insurance carefully to ensure that you are covered.
